Fabric Invitation Design Options

So you’ve scrolled through our custom gallery, found an invitation that’s almost perfect—keyword: almost—and you’re wondering, “what changes can I make to make this just right?” Well, the quick answer is we can change pretty much anything you want! We can change the fabric, the ribbons, the embellishments, the paper color, the style of printing…the only things that stay constant are our fabric invitation styles.

Our fabric invitations are available as square and rectangular folders, square and rectangular pockets, and now, as rectangular panels, as well. What do these styles look like, you ask? Well, we thought it’d be fun to show you how one invitation dresses up a little differently using various invitation styles and embellishments!

Here is our Burlap and Silk invitation. (You can see additional photos here.)

This invitation is an example of our square fabric folder. The folder opens and closes with the invitation mounted on the inside right and the pocket for your inserts on the inside left. The square folder is a 6″ X 6″, and our rectangular folders (like this one) are 5″ X 7.5″.

Our other style of fabric enclosure is our fabric pocket. Our pockets are also available in both square and rectangular shapes. Here, the burlap is made into a rectangular pocket with the invitation mounted on one side and the pocket for your inserts on the back.

Another option with our pockets is to insert the main invitation card into the pocket, which allows us even more options for embellishing the invitation.

You can see an example of a square panel invitation here.

Finally, we are now offering a fabric panel version of our invitations! You can see a couple examples below. It looks very similar to our pockets, but there is no pocket in back. And yes, we can even back your response card with fabric, too!

I hope this helps you visualize the various options you have for your fabric invitations. And yes, we can make any of the invitations you see in our custom gallery—and new ones we design just for you!—in any of these styles.

Eco-Industrial-Chic Wedding Inspiration

I am so excited to start off 2013 with these beautiful photos from Bliss by Blue Sky’s of our eco-industrial-chic wedding inspiration space for The Look of Love bridal showcase. In designing this space, our team wanted to create an “at home” feel, where guests feel like they’ve been invited into a beautiful, warm, rustic home with a little bit of industrial edge and gilded glamour.

The space was designed by Lindsay Longacre of LVL Events using items from Archive Rentals. The talk of the day was this amazing hanging centerpiece created by Aly Morford of The Vine’s Leaf. (You want one now, too, right? We all did!!)

I really love how the chalkboard and hand-torn linen signage came together! And, of course, some parting shots of the Save the Dates and invitations placed in our inspiration space.

A huge THANK YOU to Kristin and Emily for these beautiful shots!

Ombre Hand-Stamped Natural Linen Wedding Invitation

Here they are: pictures of the eco-industrial-chic invitation we designed for The Look of Love! It was such an amazing event, working with Lindsay from LVL Weddings & Events, Aly from The Vine’s Leaf, and Emily and Kristin from Bliss by Blue Sky’s Photography, not to mention meeting so many lovely couples. I absolutely CANNOT wait for the photos from Bliss so you can see Lindsay’s amazing tablescape and Aly’s show-stopping hanging floral centerpiece (yes, I said hanging centerpiece)!

For the stationery suite, I really wanted to play with chalkboard signage because I love how it has that industrial vibe yet is still warm and inviting. The chalkboard effect was center stage on Rachel & Noah’s save the dates, but I also wanted to provide a little hint to the invitation to come by backing these with the same natural linen fabric we used on the invites.

This was such a fun project to work on because it was a perfect opportunity to try something I’ve always wanted to do: custom hand-stamped fabric folders! The couple’s custom monogram was inked in purple and metallic gold to create an ombre effect for the front of our handmade linen folder.

For a slight twist on the ribbon accent, I sewed a thin satin ribbon down the spine of the fabric folder, giving the invitation the feel of a vintage book. I decided to keep the printed pieces simple and in black and white, a more formal look but still in the same vein as our chalkboard theme.

The event stationery was a great opportunity to bring the chalkboard look back! Not only did we have chalkboard style menus, we had individual chalkboard style place cards and drink & cheeseboard signage that were mounted on hand-torn linen so it had these wonderful frayed edges.

Like I said…cannot wait for the event photos so you can see how the inspiration space all came together!
