I love the romantic feel of light, airy folds of tulle. It brings to mind graceful ballerinas and veiled brides, and I was dying to create an invitation using this material for a feature in California Wedding Day!
We wrapped a blush pink dupioni silk folder with gathered and pleated tulle to create a soft, romantic texture, and then balanced it with a punch of nutmeg-colored satin.
The printed invitation pieces continue the formal elegance, with a beautiful script font and a simple foliage accent.
Wouldn’t this invitation be amazing for a bride wearing a blush colored wedding dress?
Formal, elegant, and whimsical all at once, the Woodland Invitation Suite available in our Etsy store features a Blue Magpie original fabric featuring hand-drawn bird and horse silhouettes!
We’ve paired this beautiful fabric with purple dupioni silk and silver metallic papers to add a little bit of shimmer and sophistication. This purple wedding invitation would be perfect for anything from a rustic barn wedding to an elegant estate affair.
Open the folder invitation to find a pocket on the left…
Turn the pocket invitation around to find the pocket on the back…
And all the inserts are tucked neatly under the silk ribbon on the back of our panel invites.
We also offer matching save the dates, each backed with your choice of our original woodland fabric or dark purple dupioni silk!
Keep an eye on our etsy store for matching event pieces, such as escort cards and menus!
One of our all-time favorite invitations is this Burlap & Silk invitation that is available in our Etsy store.
We get so many calls and emails about these burlap wedding invitations, and it’s no wonder because burlap is so versatile! It’s organic, rustic, has a gorgeous texture, and when paired with something as elegant and chic as silk and handmade wax seals, it just makes for a beautiful invitation.
This Burlap Invitation Suite is perfect for anything from a romantic beachside wedding to a formal soiree at a private villa. (In fact, come see some beautiful pictures from Meghan’s wedding at Villa Sevillano, which was also featured on Style Me Pretty!)
There are so many ways of making this silk and burlap combination match your event with the choice of a simple silk bow, a silk band plus raffia bow, or to adorn your invitations with handmade wax seals. The wax seals come in your choice of 3 images (fleur de lis, magnolia bloom, or starfish) or we can design a custom monogram for you.
Matching Save the Dates are also available in any of the four designs.
Oh, and did we mention that matching event stationery is on it’s way, too!?!
Jessica and Cory are just the sweetest couple, and I was so thrilled to have worked with them on their wedding invitations! Cory is a cowboy at heart from Montana. Jessica is a free spirit from Taiwan.
You can tell so much about them and their relationship from the words they chose for their invitation—“standing together with sweaty hands and open hearts”—how honest and adorable is that!?!
As a graphic designer himself, Cory really wanted to put his mark on the invitations and designed their monogram complete with the Chinese double-happiness character. He even hand-picked the fonts he wanted to use!
I worked with them on the overall layout and packaged it all together with a custom red silk pocket, a metallic silver backing, and added in the avocado flower (after all, they were getting married at an avocado grove!) at the bride’s request for something a little feminine to balance out the modern look.
