Modern Chinese Wedding Invitations

Jessica and Cory are just the sweetest couple, and I was so thrilled to have worked with them on their wedding invitations! Cory is a cowboy at heart from Montana. Jessica is a free spirit from Taiwan.

You can tell so much about them and their relationship from the words they chose for their invitation—“standing together with sweaty hands and open hearts”—how honest and adorable is that!?!

As a graphic designer himself, Cory really wanted to put his mark on the invitations and designed their monogram complete with the Chinese double-happiness character. He even hand-picked the fonts he wanted to use!

I worked with them on the overall layout and packaged it all together with a custom red silk pocket, a metallic silver backing, and added in the avocado flower (after all, they were getting married at an avocado grove!) at the bride’s request for something a little feminine to balance out the modern look.

Red Silk Indian Wedding Invitations

One of my dream projects has always been to create fabric wedding invitations for an Indian wedding. After all, the glorious textiles and vibrant colors just call out for fabric invites! So I was thrilled when a client said she was ordering some sari fabric from India for us to use on her wedding invitations!

Sadly, we soon found out that the fabric just wasn’t going to get here in time, but that didn’t matter… I was able to find her some beautiful deep red and gold metallic woven ribbon to match the deep red silk she chose.

And we paired that with some amazing gold foil printed pieces accented with a ruby red Swarovski crystal.

Despite having to change up the design a little bit, I think we ended up with some pretty amazing Indian fabric wedding invitations! You can see more images of the invitation here and photos from the wedding here.

Hollywood Glam Invitation

In honor of Sunday’s Academy Awards, I thought I’d share this invitation we made for a housewarming weekend at the Montage Residences in Beverly Hills.

This dramatic black silk trifold enclosure is accented with red satin and a crystal brooch. We kept the printed pieces classic and simple, featuring the couple’s personal monogram.

And to truly top off the feel of old Hollywood glamour, the clients selected some amazing sepia toned photographs to set the tone for the celebration weekend.

This invitation always makes me think of the amazing gowns, the glittery jewels, the carefully coiffed and made up stars on the Oscars red carpet…. Sunday’s going to be fun!

Fabric Inspiration : Valentine’s Day 2012

Hello blog! Yes, it’s been a while, but I wanted to get back into the swing of things and wish everyone a lovely Valentine’s Day. Here’s a fun little fabric that has it all–romantic roses, preppy stripes, and playful polka dots all rolled into one!

We’ll be back again soon with a fresh new look for the website and lots of new invitations in our custom gallery–yay!
