Living in Southern California makes me totally incapable of dealing with the dark, dreary skies and steady rain of the past two days. (Case in point, my husband and I had a 10-minute strategy session about who gets the ONE umbrella, taking into account distance we would travel and which kid would hate being wet more.)
One fun upside? Getting lost in rich, dark color palettes like this beautiful deep purple that has been popping up here and there in the wedding world, and I’m loving how it pairs up with a deep purple silk!

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it’s time to get excited for Christmas, and what better way than to be part of a super fun giveaway!!
My dear friend, Phyllis, over at LuxeFinds, an amazing lifestyle shopping engine, has pulled together some great vendors (such as Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Plated) for her Ultimate 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway, and we’re joining in the fun by giving away a $150 gift certificate to our Etsy shop!
If you (or someone you know) has a wedding coming up in 2015, this would be a such a great holiday surprise! And even if you don’t have a wedding on the horizon, we have beautiful fabric stationery and DIY kits in the shop (with more to come in 2015)!
Click here to enter the Blue Magpie Etsy Shop giveaway. Winners will be chosen on December 24th at 5PM. Good luck!!
We just can’t get enough of the simple, rustic elegance of our Burlap & Silk invitations, and we’ve added a few new items in our Etsy store that will carry this look throughout your wedding day!
These simple escort cards can be displayed in so many different ways…from being tied to twigs of rosemary…
to being placed in a lovely ribbon board of different laces, yarns, and textures!
One of my favorite elements of our Burlap & Silk invitation is the pearlescent wax seal, so we decided to design a wedding program where guests open the wax seal to see the program contents inside.
Table numbers are available either by themselves for framing or backed with burlap.
The burlap backing is such a beautiful touch on menus, as well!
For those who love all things paper, the invitation is but one of the many ways to incorporate beautiful paper details into a wedding, and over the past few months, we have been quietly building up our Etsy store with some lovely pieces for your wedding day.
Here are some images of what we’ve designed to go with our Vintage Floral Invitation Suite! From simple escort cards…
to ones backed with hand-torn fabric (in your choice of color or a combination of all 3!)…
to paddle fan programs with the sweetest of bow accents…
and simple kraft and white table numbers
and menus. These “day of” stationery pieces will carry the romantic, casual sweetness of our Vintage Floral Invitations throughout your entire wedding day!
Even though it’s officially fall, living in Southern California means that it often feels like winter will never, ever actually come. Here’s a fabric inspiration board dedicated to our hot, clear autumn days that scream, “It’s fall, but we’re still partying like summer never left!”
